SPIDER-MAN IS COMING TO THE MCU! WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

Well, True Believers! The day is finally here. The day we never thought would see happen has happened. Spider-Man has been granted permission to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What does this mean exactly? Well it means that Spider-Man will appear in some Marvel movies and Sony will still produce solo Spider-Man movies with the option to include other characters.

Although probably not this guy

This is definitely good news! We'll get to see Spider-Man interact with the rest of the Avengers like Hulk, Iron Man, Captain America, and maybe even the Defenders like Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Iron Fist. That's pretty awesome. Unfortunately this comes at the expense of Andrew Garfield.

This news came on a Monday. Garfield hates Mondays

The plan now is that Spider-Man will appear in next summer's Captain America: Civil War and then a solo film produced by Sony and Marvel in July 2017. That's pretty intense. Spider-Man is getting ANOTHER reboot before I'm 30 years old. That's a weird but true fact.

So here's the big question: What will be the premise of the next solo Spider-Man movie? We know for certain that Spider-Man will be a teenager, the origin story will NOT be told again, and a love story will not be the central focus of the story. So far, so good. This already sets it apart from the previous Spider-Man and Amazing Spider-Man films. The whole original Sam Raimi trilogy was based around Peter's love for Mary Jane and whether or not they could be together due to his secret identity. The Marc Webb films were based around Peter's love for Gwen and whether or not they could be together due to his secret identity.

It truly was the untold story

It sounds like the MCU Spidey is going to be a bit closer to the Ultimate Spider-Man comic books. This is definitely the way to go considering that Ultimate Spider-Man is freaking awesome and some of the best Spider-Man stories that have ever been written.

I'm definitely looking forward to this new era of Spider-Man on film. I'm very sad to lose Andrew Garfield, but I trust Marvel to introduce us to a great new talent just like they did with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston. And who do I recommend they cast?

Me.

Till Next time!
